Description

This joint project investigates the problem of the demarcation and productivity of services. It also considers the problem of measuring and managing the effectiveness of services in complex value chains. The projects has three main goals:

First, it aims to systematize measuring and accounting practices and to identify problems and examples of good practice. The empirical investigation focuses on knowledge-intensive and production-related services.

Second, it seeks to develop measuring and accounting practices in order to improve the management of services in knowledge-driven value chains. Based on these results, an innovative software solution is developed to support managers and controllers.

Third, these improved measuring and accounting practices are applied by selected partners. In addition, the practices and software are further improved. The ultimate goal is to foster the adoption of these optimized practices.
